On Monday, Class 3 had the NSPCC come to visit to hold workshops where they learnt all about the different types of abuse, what is acceptable behaviour and what is not.
This afternoon saw the very first WOW Wednesday this term. Class 3 welcomed parents this afternoon to share their learning through an interactive carousel style event. Thank you to everyone who attended to make this a special event for the children.

Well what an exciting start to our residential so far! We have worked our socks off on the farm to look after all the different animals, feeding them and mucking them out. We have also been learning lots about where our food comes from, for example, this morning we were making our own sausages for lunch and this afternoon we headed down to the allotment to pick our carrots to make our carrot cakes for tea. Speaking to the children, their favourite part so far has been getting up close and looking after the animals that they wouldn’t normally be looking after. We are having a wonderful time – take a look at the photos – more to follow. See you tomorrow.
Class 3 have been taking part in the D.A.R.E project this term to learn all about drug abuse, resistance education. They will be holding a graduation ceremony in December which parents will be invited to attend. Watch this space for more D.A.R.E updates!
Today, North Wheatley’s first Pupil Leadership Team (PLT) held a meeting to discuss which design they felt should be on the new North Wheatley flag – we worked hard on how to chair a meeting today so that the PLT can do this independently next time.
As part of our learning in Class 3, we have been developing our presentation skills and for this reason, each Friday afternoon, a different child is preparing to share with us a presentation which means something to them. Today’s presentation was all on the history of Ice cream and how it is made – well done for an excellent, entertaining presentation. Next week, our presentation will be all about living in different countries from a first hand experience. How wonderful!
